The JDI employs a Jensen JT-DBE transformer forunmatched audio performance, exceptional noiserejection and high signal handling. This makes itideal for acoustic guitar, bass and keyboards. Pure Sound of the Instrument The Radial JDI is a passive direct box designed to handle extreme signal levels without distortion of any kind. At the heart, the Radial JDI employs the world class Jensen JT-DB-EPC audio transformer delivering a smooth, warm sounding Bessel curve, reminiscent of the finest vintage gear. Ruler flat from 10Hz to 40kHz and with virtually zero phase deviation, the JDI delivers the natural, pure sound of the instrument without artifact. By its no-power passive design, the Radial JDI performs both high-to-low impedance conversion and signal balancing over a magnetic bridge that passes signal while rejecting stray DC voltage. This makes the JDI particularly adept at eliminating hum and buzz caused by ground loops. 15dB PAD switch – a -15dB pad can be introduced toreduce the input voltage and ensure a clean, distortionfree signal. MERGE switch – left-right mix function turns the input and thru-put connectors into a pair of left-right inputs witha mono output at the XLR. INPUT – 1/4\” jack, 130k Ohm instrument input. THRU – 1/4\” jack, thru-put to send instrument signalthrough to the instrument amplifier. Protective bookend cover overhangs the chassisproviding protection for switches and connectors. Welded I-beam construction for maximum strengthand durability and a baked enamel finish offer years oftrouble free performance. Full bottom no-slip pad – reduces slipping in use andprovides mechanical and electrical isolation. Double sided PC board – military grade circuit boardfeatures a full ground plane for maximum protectionagainst stray magnetic fields and RF noise. XLR output connector – wired to the AES standardwith pin-1 ground and pin-2 hot, provides a balanced150 Ohm mic level signal. POLARITY switch – 180 polarity reverse toggles theXLR pin-2 and pin-3 to interface with older equipment.Also used when combining two sources such as a micand a DI. GROUND switch – lifts the XLR pin-1 ground at theoutput to eliminate hum and noise caused by groundloops. SPEAKER switch – a pad circuit that allows you to tapthe signal from a speaker cabinet.
