Other Content
The M5Stack Station-485 exposes PORT.A1, PORT.A2, PORT.B1, PORT.B2, PORT.C1, and PORT.C2 Grove connections. PORT.A1 and PORT.A2 share the same power and signal pins, while PORT.B1, PORT.B2, PORT.C1, and PORT.C2 use separate power and signal pins. This layout helps a Station-485 RS485 controller combine multi-channel data acquisition with stable RS485 wiring.
For deployment, the M5Stack Station-485 can be mounted by DIN rail, magnet, wall mount, screws, or cable tie. This makes the ESP32 industrial IoT controller practical for smart building controller panels, small machine cabinets, laboratory test benches, and maintenance-ready retrofit projects.
When planning software, treat the M5-K123 as a field-ready ESP32 industrial IoT controller: use the display and RGB LEDs for local status, use PWR485 for RS485 industrial communication, and use the six Grove ports for sensors or auxiliary modules.

FAQ
What is M5Stack Station-485 mainly used for?
M5Stack Station-485 is mainly used as an ESP32 industrial IoT controller for RS485 industrial communication, smart building controller projects, multi-channel data acquisition, and industrial field control.
Does M5-K123 support RS485 power input?
Yes. The M5-K123 Station-485 RS485 controller includes a PWR485 interface with RS485 and 9~24V power input, which is useful for field wiring and cabinet-mounted automation.
Can Station-485 be programmed with Arduino?
Yes. The M5Stack Station-485 supports Arduino IDE, UiFlow1, UiFlow2, ESP-IDF, PlatformIO, and FreeRTOS, so developers can build an ESP32 industrial IoT controller with graphical or code-based workflows.
Why choose Station-485 instead of a basic ESP32 board?
Choose the M5Stack Station-485 when the project needs an ESP32 controller with RS485, display, buttons, RGB status LEDs, Grove expansion, monitored power outputs, and enclosure-ready mounting. A basic ESP32 board usually needs separate modules to match this Station-485 RS485 controller.
Is it suitable for smart building automation?
Yes. The M5Stack Station-485 is a good smart building controller for field nodes that need RS485 industrial communication, sensor collection, local status display, and stable 9~24V input.
